Cooking Healthy For Radiant Health

 Cooking Healthy For Radiant Health

Who can resist a cookbook's enticing photographs? Who doesn't remember the aromas coming from the kitchen on special occasions or even on routine, everyday days? Spices, baking bread, and just-baked cookies all evoke strong yearnings in most people. Everyone's daily routine will always include time for eating, and the same is true for those who make food. They have become the uncrowned gods and goddesses of our life.

Real cooking entails more than just dropping a TV dinner from a wax-covered box into the oven or microwave or opening a can with a boring picture of green beans on the front. The real purpose of food is to nourish the wonderful bodies we inhabit, to help them develop and express their power and energy, to keep them healthy and able to resist environmental bacteria and germs. The primary goal of cooking may be summed up in one word: health!

When does a fruit or vegetable (or any baked item) furnish us with the most nutrition? According to experts, food produced in one's local surroundings will often be the healthiest. Food that has recently been harvested has the highest nutritional value. After a fruit or vegetable has been sitting for several days, or traveled over the world, the worth of the vitamins and minerals reduces.

Eating fruits and vegetables fresh in salads or as snacks is the greatest way to "cook" them for their health benefits. A significant amount of the nutrition is destroyed as soon as heat is applied. A talented chef may create a stunning feast using the organic hues of just harvested fruits and vegetables.

Nearly all crops are now grown using ingredients that have undergone genetic engineering. This method didn't exist until the last ten years, and because its long-term effects on people have never been studied, it is still incredibly debatable.

A healthy seed or grain is infected with different bacteria or insects to extend its shelf life and make it appear "beautiful" to the buyer long after the nutritional content has vanished. This not only has a detrimental impact on one's health but also leaves the cook with a dish that isn't particularly tasty.

Today's health-conscious cooks have the best chance of enjoying their time in the kitchen and shopping when they choose natural, organically grown foods that haven't been exposed to toxic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Make heading to the kitchen your favorite part of the day by whipping up a carrot cake that will charm both family and friends (best to make two cakes while you're at it) or making a quick but nutritious breakfast so the body will gladly handle the challenges of the day without needing to be drugged by coffee or caffeine. The cook is the household's true deity.
